IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) is the most recent version of the Internet Protocol (IP), the communications protocol that provides an addressing and routing system for data transmission over the Internet. It is designed to replace IPv4, addressing the limitations of the latter, such as the depletion of available IP addresses.
